Before asking a question about an existing item, please read the description fully to see if the answer to your query is already there.
A lot of the questions we receive are already fully answered in the description. This wastes time and may prevent someone else from receiving an answer that they need to know.
If you do not receive an answer within 24 hours it is usually because we are waiting for information from a manufacturer or that ebay is preventing us from answering.

    We offer a 14day money back satisfaction guarantee and a three month warranty against defects or failures on almost all products sold. This is subject to some conditions which are stated in our refund policy in the listings themselves and in some cases within the individual item description. The most important general conditions are that items which are sold in sealed packaging must be returned in the same unopened sealed packaging to qualify for this refund and also that electrical items can only be returned if they have not been fitted or used in any way.

Why do we have this policy?

    We have this policy to ensure that if items are returned because they were purchased by mistake, then they can be resold to someone else just as if they came straight off the shelf and are covered by any applicable warranty. If a package has been opened then it has obviously been opened by somebody and therefore is not in as new condition. If you would not like to receive a brand new item in a ripped open package, then please appreciate our reasons for taking this stance.
    Secondly, in the case of electrical items that have been fitted there is also the possibility that the new part can be damaged by some other fault in the equipment it is connected to. In some cases, this may simply involve time on our part to fully retest the item prior to resale, or in others such as sealed items such as appliance timers, there may be no way to know if damage has occured so the item can never be confidently resold as a brand new faultless item.
    In cases where we can retest the item for resale, or where it is still in good condition but with ripped packaging, we may agree to take the item back with a 50% restocking and testing fee applied. This will be determined on a case by case basis.

What is not covered?

    Electrical items which have been fitted and may have suffered damage and cannot be economically or accurately tested are not refundable at all. If an item is not returnable or covered by any warranty other than the common law conditions, then this will be clearly stated in the item description and reasons provided for this status. Examples include ebooks or other software provided on CD, custom lengths of hose where we have had to cut a special length specified by you, all semiconductor devices and electical items which have been fitted that are not possible to economically test such as appliance timers, some electronic modules, etc.

What is covered?

    Most items, including second hand items, are covered by our 3 month warranty against failure or defects and many new items may also be covered by manufacturer warranties which go beyond this, often for 12 months. We do not cover any freight or postage charges for warranty claims outside our stated 3 month period. Where an item may be covered by a longer manufacturer warranty, you are welcome to return it to us so that we can forward it on to the manufacturer but all postage charges to and from you to us and from us to the manufacturer are your responsibility. Where an item is within our 3 month warranty period, we will cover any postage or freight charges back to you, but any costs to send the item to us are your responsibility.

    All items sold are able to be returned for a full refund if covered by common law situations such as not as described, not fit for the purpose sold or faulty or incomplete when sold.

A disclaimer.

    Some electrical items must be fitted by licenced technicians or contractors. This includes all items that are part of an appliance which is directly connected to the mains power supply and in some states may include other electrical items which are part of appliances that may be connected to a mains supply. It is your responsibility to ensure that all local, statewide and federal laws are adhered to when the item is fitted and used. Failure to do this can void all warranties including ours and the manufacturers.

What will we do for you?

    We are always willing to resolve any genuine warranty problem. In some cases where a possible faulty part is reported, we may offer a few suggestions as to what may be wrong first other than the new part purchased, or ask you to perform some checks or tests. Please don't think this is to try to avoid any responsibility on our part. We simply want to ensure that the part is genuinely faulty prior to you sending it back to us so as to minimise any unnecessary postage or freight costs associated with returns of parts which subsequently prove not to be faulty. To this end we will use our wealth of experience and expertise to help you with whatever situation you are experiencing.
    There have been many cases where we have been able to resolve a situation by email that was initially thought to be due to a faulty part. Be assured that in cases where you have received an item which is genuinely faulty then we will do everything necessary to help you resolve the situation. In some cases we may even send you a replacement without wanting the original item back to keep freight costs to a minimum. In other cases we may request the return of the faulty item or require some photo evidence of damage. Ultimately we are here to make sure you are satisfied with the purchase you have made.
