Product Quality Overview

Canvas

·          USA-made 100% cotton canvas that's recognized as the world's leading fine art canvas. It is featured in well-known art galleries and art museums around the world

·          Bright white giving fantastic colour and definition

·          Water resistant

·          Archival - rated to 100 years

·          Heavyweight

·          More textured than most canvases on the market

·         Displays small cotton seeds on the surface (a sign of a good quality canvas)

Ink

Printed using genuine Epson Ultrachrome inks which give bright, vibrant colours that literally jump off the canvas. These inks have been independently tested to last 75 years without fading by the world's leading authority on ink stability (The Wilhelm Institute). This is essential as trials of lower quality inks have shown significant fading after just 12 months in normal light.

B&W images are produced on a dedicated B&W printer that features 6 channels of varying density black ink. This means that they are completely neutral with exceptional tonal transitions, unlike B&W prints produced on colour printers. The B&W inks are rated to last 200 years without fading.

Lamination

Every print has received two coats of premium quality laminate that offers:

·          Protection against dust, water and inquisitive fingers

·          Excellent protection against fading – 75 years

·          Anti-fungal compounds that restrict the growth of mould

·          Anti-grafitti properties

·          Protection from abrasion, bumps and scratches

This product is far more expensive than the lower quality laminates meaning that the will last longer and can be carefully cleaned with water.

Framing

Framed using kiln-dried Meranti timber, costing 40% more than pine, but offering better resistance to twisting, warping and other defects. The timber is straight-grained, uniform in appearance and sourced from renewable forests. This means that in 30 years your Amanda Kopelke print will look as good as the day it was purchased.

The frames are uniquely moulded to profile both sides of the timber. This means the prints sit perfectly flat against the wall and shows no visible framing line on the front of the canvas.

Finishing

Canvases have superior finishing touches which include carefully trimmed excess canvas at the back of the frame, taping of the back of the print using 100% acid-free framers tape and insertion of quality screw-in eyes and 2mm nylon cord, so the print is ready to hang.
