Postage Costs and Discounts
We offer fantastic postage discounts - BEWARE
sellers who don't!
If any listing (ours or anyone else's) does not state
'DISCOUNT AVAILABLE'
beside the postage then the amount stated will
be charged and there is
NO POSTAGE DISCOUNT

Estimate your postage costs online
-
All Goodly Bits listings on eBay, unless
otherwise stated in the listing,
indicate the postage, packaging, insurance and
handling costs to your
destination -
Scroll down to "Postage, payment details, and
return policy" in the listing if postage to
your destination is not listed under the item
price.
-
All discounts for combined postage are also
stated in the listings.
If a listing does
not state that a postage discount is available
for that item (beside the postage charge quoted
under the price), then it is excluded from our
normally offered postage discount (shown below).
In these cases, the full postage will be charged
for that item.
-
To receive postage
discounts, you must combine your items
into a single order on eBay (see "Auction
Conditions")
-
Postal
Insurance is mandatory. We expect that you
would not want to accept responsibility for
what Australia Post does to your
parcel - and neither do we.

-
We know that buyers don't like to hear this, but
it's a simple fact of life and we would ask you,
to please remember that the postage costs
stated include packaging and handling and
insurance. In
reality, these costs are, for small
items, larger than the cost of the
postage alone. We encourage buyers to
purchase multiple items because we can then pass
on the full cost savings of bulk
postage, packaging, handling and insurance.
-
Pick-up of items is not available unless
otherwise stated.
-
Our postage discount system works like this:
For smaller items where
(discount available)
is stated by eBay
beside the postage, you will be charged only the first (highest)
postage charge for combined items up to
the relevant packed-weight limit (up to a total
of 10 kg within Sydney, 2 kg elsewhere in
Australia or 1 kg outside Australia). All additional
items up to this combined weight are posted FREE.
When your order reaches this limit, or if
the item weight is specified in our "Postage
Section", postage is discounted as follows:
For larger, heavier
items, where we have stated a weight and / or
size in our "Postage" section,
your
postage cost will be calculated by weight (or
size) according to your destination and charged
at cost (costs include the actual costs of packaging and handling).
You will receive the full benefits of combined
postage and pay only a single very reasonable
packaging and handling charge that is at or
below the actual cost of packaging materials and
handling.
-
The costs of
postage,
packaging materials, handling, insurance
and tracking that are stated in the listing
include the following packaging materials:
1) Items sold in boxes that would normally be
discarded by the purchaser will be wrapped in
packaging paper and sealed with packaging tape
only.
2) Fragile items or items sold in boxes that
would normally be expected to be retained by the
purchaser will be wrapped in two layers of 10 mm bubble
wrap with an outer wrapping of packaging paper,
sealed with tape.
Please remember that you are
the owner of the parcel and that you contract us
to pack the parcel and hand it, on your behalf,
to Australia Post for delivery to you by
Australia Post and/or your own countries postal
service. We expect that you would not want to
accept responsibility for what Australia Post
does to your parcel - and likewise we do not
accept responsibility for what Australia Post
does to YOUR parcel. If you agree that this packaging to be
adequate, simply proceed with your purchase at
the stated price, otherwise, you may choose from
the following additional packaging options:
* Corrugated cardboard box: $5.00 plus any extra postage due to
weight
* Shredded paper packing to a thickness of 25 mm: $2.00 plus any
extra postage due to
weight.
We regret to have to make these charges, but
most eBay buyers are not willing to pay for
any packaging materials for their
own parcels. As you can see from our
feedback, the basic packaging materials provided
in the basic stated costs of pp&h price are
considered by most to be perfectly adequate -
but this is still your decision.
-
It is your
responsibility to ensure that your parcel is
correctly
addressed! Fair warning: most eBay buyers do
not have a registered postal address that
conforms to
Australia Post's
requirements! We will only post to
your registered eBay address as it appears on
your invoice - we do not re-type addresses, so
any mistakes are your own and of your own
choosing - so please get it right!
-
In order to fully protect
buyers against loss or damage in the mail, we
now REQUIRE that
ALL orders be posted WITH INSURANCE. This
provides protection and peace-of-mind for all
parties involved and does not usually represent
a significant charge. Insurance on parcels
outside Australia is an estimate only and some
additional payment may be required for large or
expensive orders. Please note that older
listings include insurance as an "option" - this
is no longer the case and the stated
insurance will be
charged. If it were possible to change
all these listings now, we would - we do not
want to appear to mislead buyers in any way.
feeBay, however, does not facilitate such global
changes and we have to update over 400 listings
manually, one by one. These changes follow
global changes to buyer protection and eBay
policies made by eBay and PayPal themselves.
-
Insurance up to $100 is included in the basic
fee (AU$2.75, Registered Mail).
Additional Postal Insurance of $1.25 (within
Australia) or approximately AU$9.50 plus AU$2.15 (Outside Australia) will
be added for every $100 (or part thereof) in
purchases over the initial $100.
These are costs quoted by Australia Post
as of June 2008.
-
Postage by
ordinary Air Mail to
the following countries cannot be insured
- so if you live in one of these countries we cannot post to you
by ordinary Air Mail and we would ask you to
contact us for other delivery methods or to not
bid:
Afghanistan, Albania, Angola, Anguilla,
Antigua, Argentina, Aruba, Ascension Island,
Bahamas, Bahrain, Barbados, Barbuda, Belize,
Bermuda, Bolivia, Bosnia and Herzegovina,
Botswana, Canada, Chile, East Timor, Ecuador,
Germany, Indonesia, Iraq, Israel, Lebanon,
Mexico, Nigeria, Norway, Peru, Uruguay, Yemen,
Zimbabwe
This is not an exhaustive list - Insurance may
not be available to other countries -
please ask us to call Australia Post or
check if you are unsure.
If a buyer, from a country that does not provide
insurance, buys an item without asking us to
confirm postage, we may choose to use
Registered Air Mail at the same cost as insured
Air Mail or we may require Insured Express
International or Insured Express Courier
International at additional cost.

Estimate your postage costs here:
*
Within Australia
- please remember to add
insurance and
approximately $3.501 to contribute
towards the actual costs of handling and
packaging materials. Lodgement postcode is 2774,
destination postcode is your postcode. This will
provide an estimate only. Postal method
is Registered Mail.
*
Outside Australia
- please remember to add
insurance
and approximately $4.501 to
contribute towards the actual costs of handling
and packaging materials. This will provide an
estimate only for delivery to your country.
Postal method is Insured Air Mail. In
some cases,
other methods
may be offered if available. Sea Mail will
not be provided under any circumstances.
1.
Packaging and handling may cost slightly more
for some larger, bulkier, fragile or
custom-ordered items. We have job vacancies for
all buyers who believe that this is
unreasonable: Pay is $0.00/hr, supply own
packing materials.
If
you are in any doubt about the postage discount
that you will receive or any other
conditions, including insurance requirements, you are strongly encouraged to ask
for clarification before bidding.
