If you sell items on eBay or another auction system or your own web site you know that one of the most challenging aspects is postage! Have you ever had these questions?
- How much is postage going to cost?
- Is a box or a bag better?
- How do I calculate flat rates for smaller items and weight/distance rates for larger items?
- When do I use cubing and how do I calculate the cubic weight?
- Should I split the items into multiple packages and send them separately?
- What is the cheapest postage option?
Our postage cost calculator answers these questions, easily and automatically!
It finds the cheapest postage option for sellers and buyers. You can use it to add an in-listing postage calculator to your eBay items and also use it off-line to manage your packaging and postage options and quickly and easily calculate postage yourself based on the item and quantity sold, buyers location and postage options.
No other postage calculator has these unique features:
- Calculate postage for multiple item quantities sold.
- Automatically calculate the cheapest postage which includes the best packaging and postage options.
Maintain a list of your various packaging options (satchels, jiffy-bags, shurrtuf bags, boxes and so on).
- Maintain a list of your items/products and how you want to package them.
- Assists you to determine the optimum initial and additional item postage rates for eBay listings (optional - the in-listing postage calculator provides buyers with more accurate postage costs).
- Automatic link to your eBay "Ask the seller a question" link from the in-listing postage calculator when the buyer enters quantities not included in your configured postage options.
In addition to the above unique features our postage calculator also allows you to include multiple postage rates such as standard and contract Australia Post rates for fixed and weight/distance options.
The in-listing postage calculator complies with all eBay HTML and script policies. If the buyer does not have scripting enabled in their browser they will see a friendly message to contact you for postage costs with a link to your seller page or email address. You can then use the off-line program to easily calculate the postage yourself and to validate postage costs entered by the buyer when purchasing your item.
Pre-loaded data to get you up and running fast!
- Postage zones for Australia.
- Australia Post satchels and post-pak box packages.
- Sample products and weight/distance postage rates.
Here's How It Works
- Set up the postage rates that apply to your location.
- Add the packaging options that you have (such as satchels, bags and boxes), specifying their size, weight, cost and postage options.
- Add your items/products, specifying their weight and the quantity that physcially fits into the packaging options that you want to use with them.
Now you can quickly and easily find the best postage option for any item, quantity and location. The postage cost calculator works out which package to ship the item in and which postage rate to use to obtain the cheapest total postage cost. You can optionally copy and paste a simple HTML script into your item description to add the postage calculator to your listing, or determine the optimum initial and additional quantity item postage charges to specify in your listing postage options.
Because rates vary depending on where you are located the postage rates in the postage calculater are customisable. For example, shipping to Brisbane from Melbourne is usually more expensive than shipping from Sydney.
Our postage calculator works with eBay and just about any auction system or web site and can be used totally stand-alone without the need to sell items on eBay or other sites. It is very easy to install, setup and use!
