What antenna do I need for my UHF?
A. Any UHF
antenna will suit any UHF radio, however it is more
important to install the right antenna for your application. Things to consider
are Size, Range required, Physical durability, type of mounting surface (metal
or fibreglass/plastic) and price. We are happy to make suggestions if you let
us know vehicle type, clearance/height limitations, desired mounting location
and price.

Do I need to use the same brand Antenna as my UHF?
A. No, you
can use any brand of UHF antenna with any brand of UHF Radio, we stock GME,
UNIDEN, Axis and ZCG

Where do I mount the radio?
A. Have a
good look in your vehicle and see if there is any room for a
UHF. If there is, good, that makes life easy! If you have a DIN (same size as a
standard CD Player) hole/pocket which you can use, you will need to buy a DIN
size radio. If you do not have much
room, you will need to go for a more compact unit. Think about a slim line unit
or even a remote head / remote microphone unit. We have a radio to suit any
vehicle!

What range will I get ?
A. Range is
affected by many things, most
importantly is the choice of antenna, basic rule of thumb is "Bigger is
Better", basically we recommend the tallest antenna you can fit without
hitting carport/garage etc.., generally UHF CB will provide about 15-30km range
from your vehicle if setup correctly. More in open flat
terrain and less in very hilly country.

Which brand of radio is best ?
A. We have
been selling GME, Uniden and Garmin since 1989 and stand by all these brands,
they are well made, durable and they all have excellent reliability
reputations. If a brand is unreliable we just simply wont
sell it, it’s not worth the trouble. The choice of brand will come down to what
suits you, size, style, features and price.

Do I need a license ?
A.
Licensing for UHF CB was abolished a few years ago and is now considered a
"licence free" system however all radios
sold in Australia must comply to government specified standards and be approved
for use in Australia. We only sell approved radios.
