What are Italian Charm Bracelets?
Italian charm bracelets are made of stainless steel interlocking links that can easily be taken apart and put together. The bracelets stretch to fit over your hand - there's no clasp to worry about. Instead of dangling from a chain most charms for Italian bracelets are soldered to a flat link. There are some dangly charms available but they are not as big or elaborate as the old charm bracelets.
You start with a starter bracelet. Depending on the size of your wrist you'll need 15 - 20 links. The most common size link is 9 mm. There are larger links but it's harder to find charms for them. There are plain stainless steel bracelets or you can get fancier ones with raised hearts or stars, coloured hearts, stars or ovals, mixes of gold & silver, and other variations. All of the Italian charms will interchange with one another. Then the fun starts - picking from the thousands of charms available to make your bracelet a reflection of you!
There are stainless steel charms with black laser writing or pictures on them. There are stainless steel charms with enamel & gold or silver designs. And there are charms using precious or semi-precious stones - the most common is cubic zirconas in both clear and coloured. There is a huge selection of charms available; sports, birthstones, hobbies, letters, animals, phrases - almost anything you can think of. New charms are being designed regularly so there is always something new. Think about the person's interests and it's easy to pick the perfect charm.

Italian charm bracelets are adjustable to fit any size wrist. For a smaller wrist, just take away a few blank links. For a larger wrist, add links or italian charms to it to increase the size.

Toddler - 5" in length - 13 links
Child - 5 1/4" in length - 14 links
Youth - 5 3/4" in length- 15 links

Medium - 7" in length - 18 links
Large - 7 ¼" in length - 19 Links

How do I start?
You could start with a starter bracelet with plain links and then add charms as you wish or just buy the appropriate number of charms for your wrist and put them together to make your first bracelet. Don't forget, you can add or remove charms anytime.
What is the tool for?
The tool makes it easier to add or remove links but it is not essential. it is easy enough to do it by hand once you get the knack.
Attaching Charms
Attaching a charm is easy. Each link has a spring loaded clasp mechanism inside the charm. Use your thumb to push towards the left on the front right side of the link (which will slide open the clasp). This clasp hooks into the opening on the right side of the second link (use your thumb to push towards the left on the front right side of this second link to better expose the opening). Hook the two links together at a 45-degree angle. The springs inside each link close, locking them together.
What are MEGA links?
Each jumbo charm has connectors for two strands of regular charms
on each side. Use them to create unique "dual" charm bracelets.
